In comparison to paper, working with cardboard is more difficult. Paper can be easily folded whereas cardboard has resistance.
A simple Glue stick would be enough to attach paper pieces together however with cardboard a stronger adhesive is required.
It is also more time consuming, in order to stick two pieces of cardboard together, they need to be held together for a length of time.
